Chinese 19thC Porcelain Celadon Dish (probably Tongzhi period) in French Gilt Bronze Mounts
A beautiful Chinese dish in french gilt bronze mounts. The dish is richly decorated with flowers, roses, insects, butterflies and a pair of birds of paradise in the middle, on a light green celadon background. The bronze mounts depict branches with oak leaves and berries on the rim, and roses underneath. The dish is marked in blue on the back, with a mark that was in use in China around 1862-74, making it a Tongzhi period piece.
Condition: The dish is in excellent condition, with some minor wear to the enamels, but no other damage. The gilted bronze is still very strong.
Dimensions: The piece is 35cm in diameter (approx. 14 inches) and is 17cm tall (6 4/5 inches). The dish has a diameter of 26cm (10 2/5 inches).
